The weather these days in Slovakia is surprising.Extreme temperatures that climb above 35 °C are not usual for the beginning of September, although they are not record values. The record from 2015, when the thermometer showed up to 36. 4 °C, has not yet been broken.Nevertheless, relief awaits us in the form of a change in the weather..
On Wednesday, 4September, temperatures can still rise above 35 °C, but then we will start to observe a gradual decrease in temperatures. In Slovakia, cooling is expected in the coming days, which will be accompanied by an increased occurrence of storms and precipitation. From Friday, the temperature will drop by around 0. 5-1°C every day, which will be due to a change in the synoptic situation.Frontal waves and areas of lower air pressure will begin to flow into our territory, which will bring storms and rains.
Stormy weather is coming
Although mostly sunny weather awaits us until the end of the week, thunderstorms are expected already during the weekend. The most significant changes are expected on Sunday, when storms will mainly affect the central and northern parts of Slovakia.
The beginning of next week will bring a significant change, when a cold front will begin to affect our territory. This front will bring with it numerous and intense storms that will persist for several days.Although we are already approaching the second half of September, the weather will be more like hot summer days, with frequent ‘summer’ storms.
Rains will replace the humidity
The expected storms will bring much-desired refreshment and precipitation to Slovakia, which will significantly alleviate the drought. The most significant precipitation could arrive in the middle of next week, when a low pressure area will appear over our territory.
The weather will continue to be cloudy and rainy from Wednesday, with a significant cooling.Despite this, winter is not yet imminent – only a pleasant relief from the tropical heat, which has been bothering us for the last few days, is expected.
