Orchids are beautiful plants that can beautify any interior.
However, sometimes their leaves turn yellow and wither , which can be a sign of root problems or lack of care.
Today we bring you a simple and effective guide on how to restore orchids and help them grow back healthy and strong.
Follow these tips from the YouTube channel Mổo vẻọ cầu lước and your orchids will be more beautiful than ever. .
Step 1: Removal of damaged parts of the plant
If you have an orchid with leaves that are yellow and dry, or if the roots are damaged , it is important to remove those parts.
First remove all yellow and rotten leaves from the plant..
After removing the damaged parts wash the orchid thoroughly to get rid of all dirt and potential pathogens.
Step 2: Preparation of rice water
Rice water is rich in B vitamins, which are beneficial for orchid growth.
To prepare it, you need 3 spoons of rice and 500 ml of water.
Rinse the rice thoroughly and let it soak in water for approximately 30 minutes..
After this time strain the water – we will use this rice water for the next steps.
Step 3: Treatment of leaves and roots
Using soft cotton swabs apply rice water to orchid leaves.
This water supplies the leaves with complete nutrients and helps them recover from insect or fungal damage.
Leave the rice water on the plant for 30 minutes – this will help the orchids to revive their roots faster.
You can use the leftover rice water also to spray the leaves , which will help prevent insect infestation and mold growth.
Be sure to spray the underside of the leaves as well to ensure thorough protection.
Step 4: Using garlic for protection
Garlic has strong antibacterial and antiseptic properties that can help protect orchids from harmful microorganisms.
Use one clove of garlic and leave it in a cool, dry place for a day to release its active ingredients.
Then you can use it to treat the damaged parts of the plant.
Step 5: Proper care and placement
Place the orchid in a well-lit area, but not in direct sunlight..
Make sure the plant has enough moisture but not too much water.
If you use the plastic cup and cotton pad method , make sure the water doesn’t reach the bottom of the plant directly – the moisture should only be absorbed through the cotton.
Watch to see if the water stays dirty for too long – if so, change it and replace the orchid in a dry, well-ventilated area..
By using this method every 15 days , your orchid will recover quickly and have healthy roots and leaves..
Orchids will grow faster and have beautiful, abundant flowers.
After 40 days you should see the first results in the form of healthy roots and new leaves.
